Sara Acosta (External Collaboration) - Production

Sara needs to take the pictures for the publication. In the meantime, I wanted to start building up the publication based on the sketches previously drawn.

I used pictures from her website and loren ipsum text to fill the gaps and create the first drafts.

The layouts were specifically chosen to convey luxury, uniqueness, and lightness. Full of white space, the photographs are able to 'breathe' and makes the experience of going through the publication very dynamic.

At this stage, the collaboration relied more on her side. It was time for her to take the photographs that were more relevant for the publication. The idea was to shoot models wearing accessories like watches and neckties to help the owners of fashion business better understand the potential of our work. Although, she got really busy and the great communication we had at the beginning of the project got very diminished. Over a period of a month, I called or texted her in regards to the pictures, asking her to have them asap, but she was very busy with other important projects. This was a project that, in my planning, needed to be done before the Christmas break, so the photo shoot needed to be done by November. Today, it's 24th of November. I've tried to be understanding, but the last thing I know about her is that life's got in the way for her on a personal level.

I could've ended the collaboration, but I felt a lot of work went into this project and I didn't want to punish it and punish her for something that was probably out of her control. After asking for feedback on what to do to other peers and friends, I decided to finish the publication with the pictures I was able to gather from the Internet and with the data I was able to collect over our meetings. I told her about my decision and why I made it: to make sure the project was finished when the problem was still relevant and to make sure it wouldn't be left undone. I told her that I understood that life sometimes gets in the way and there's nothing one can do, so with this decision, it was my way to try to make things easier for her. All she needs to do now it's to send the same pictures in high quality for the publication. The ideal scenario was to use photos precisely taken for this publication, but by judging the series of events that have happened that photoshoot is becoming more and more difficult to carry out. It'd improve the quality of the publication, but using her existing work would make the collaboration still relevant.
